North Island - New Zealand impressions

Although I´m a fan of alpine mountains I must say the northern island from New Zealand is one of the most impressive regions I have seen. Endless beaches without tourists, beautiful waterfalls everywhere, Kauri forests, active volcanoes and volcano lakes like Upper and Lower Tama lakes in the Tongariro National Park area were absolutely breathtaking. The plan was to visit the north and south island, but I simply ran out of time although I already had several weeks in this beautiful area. So a reason to come back :-)
